LIFE HAPPENS TO EVERYONE, EVEN THE STRONGEST AMONG US ARE NOT IMMUNE TO THE EFFECTS OF TRAUMA.
WHEN THOSE WHO HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN CARE OF EVERYTHING BECOME OVERWHELMED AND IMPAIRED - EVERYONE SUFFERS.
FAMILY & FRIENDS FEEL THE STRESS, THIS FLOWS INTO THE WORKPLACE, TO THE EMPLOYERS & CO-WORKERS AND FINALLY OUT TO THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE.
WE KNOW WELLNESS & RECOVERY ARE POSSIBLE WITH HOLISTIC APPROACHES.
I was born to a military family, I enlisted eventually. So yes, I've traveled a bit.
I lived in 7 states and 3 countries before I returned to South Florida, settled in and returned to college, completing my Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology with minors in Social Work and Sociology. I was a young, single mom and (with the help from my family) I worked my tail off in a full time job, taking a full loads of classes and when I graduated it was summa cum laude.
I'm pretty proud of that.
I have four sons, grown now, but they keep me on a learning curve! They're some of the finest human beings I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.
I've been a student of Human Nature & Living ever since I could remember.
I have over 20 years of experience as a professional & volunteer working with individuals to create health, mental health and development plans targeted to their needs. While I loved my work, there were a few areas that often frustrated me, namely the belief that the mind and body are separate and the illness or distress of one doesn't impact the other significantly.
One of the most important lessons I've learned so far is the significance of a natural approach to Living and Healing.
Like it or not, we are members of the Animalia Kingdom and subject to the same rules of nature as our kin. I believe - and research findings are bearing me out - the further we remove ourselves from nature, the harder it is for us to heal. I try to spend as much time out in it as possible.
Physically and mentally we are bonded to our world.
This isn't WOO WOO.
it's science- maybe some of it we don't quite understand just yet.
Yes, beach time is my favorite Wellness Tool, I find a salt water rinse cures most ills. But I spend time on the water and away from it too. Check out our Fishin' Team page, and you'll see what we do for fun.
Oh, and one last thing
I am an avid music lover and try to incorporate it wherever legally possible. If a picture paints a thousand words, then a song tells the whole story- with inflection!
